You may have asked yourself, what are the 5 things that you do not know about custom t-shirt printing. Maybe you do not even know what t-shirt printing is. T-shirt printing is a t-shirt bearing a design, image or lettering on it. Printing can be done with seven different methods and we bet that you would not know at least 4 of them. These methods can also be used to customize polo t-shirts, hoodies and sweaters. Before we get to the five things you didn’t know about custom t-shirt printing.
Here are the four methods that are being used for T-shirt printing!
- Screen Printing
T-shirt screen printing is a printing method that uses a plate (screen mask) that uses a screen mesh, which is woven with synthetic fibers such as polyester or metal fibers such as stainless steel. It is a type of stencil printing, which prints on target objects by passing ink through the mesh of a screen mask. - Heat Press Printing
Heat Transfer Printing is the process of combining heat with a transfer medium to create personalized T Shirts or merchandise. Transfer media comes in the form of vinyl and transfer paper. Heat transfer vinyl comes in various colours and patterns, from solid colours to even reflective materials and glitter materials. - Direct to Garments (DTG)
Direct-to-garment printing (DTG) is a process of printing on textiles using specialized aqueous ink jet technology. Direct-to-garment printers typically have a platen designed to hold the garment in a fixed position, and the printer inks are jetted or sprayed onto the textile by the print head. - Plastisol Transfer
Plastisol transfer is a heat transfer method for printing designs on T-shirts that uses a specialized transfer paper. This is different from the transfer paper method that uses inkjet printers to print designs on another type of heat transfer paper. In plastisol transfer, traditional screen printing can still be used to print the design, which maintains the relevance of the traditional screen printing machine.
There are always pros and cons in regards to these few methods on t-shirt printing but that explanation would be for another time on another day! Now lets begin and focus on what we are supposed to be doing which are the 5 things you didn’t know about t-shirt printing:
1. Colours
We understand that colour accuracy is important when you want a corporate t-shirt printing. The colours of a logo, when viewed on different screens may appear to be of a different shade of the colour that you want. Different printers have different types of ink and colour profile and will only print 1 shade of colour differently.
With the in-house design team, we pay special attention to this issue of colour printing accuracy! We ensure that the colour of the final prints on the corporate t-shirts are very close and similar to the corporate colours required.
2. Package and Delivery
Do you need to order corporate t-shirts for several departments with an organisation? Besides offering quality t-shirts and prints to you, we are able to pack the customized t-shirts separately and label them clearly to save you time on finding which is for which department. Receive the customized t-shirt from us and easily differentiate the quantities required for each department. We will also offer delivery services to different locations if your organisation department is not in one central location.
3. Quick Customization
Need a custom t-shirt quickly? Receive your custom t-shirt in a short period of time by choosing to customise either adidas or Under Armour t-shirts. As we are a corporate distributor of adidas and Under Armour, we have the stock ready in our warehouse. Do not worry about us running out of stock! We have lots of them!
We will be using the heat press printing method as it is one of the fastest ways we can produce your custom t-shirt. You will have two choices, choose from a solid colour vinyl or digital prints.
4. Print to be done as soon as possible

5. Mockup
Do make sure that the t-shirt printer you engage provides a type of visual mock up before they print on your shirts! Good visual mock ups are important in ensuring all details are accurate and where they need to be. We want to ensure that your artwork or logo’s details such as the graphic element, colours, size and fonts are correct.
Our in-house design team will work on your artwork and logo. With the reference to the brand identity guide, if your company has one, please send it to us, and create the visual mock up for your review. Once you have approved of our visual mock up, we will be proceeding with producing a sample for you.
