Types of Print Methods for T shirt Printing Singapore
Sales Managers will recommend the best printing method for your t-shirt order based on your logos and artwork details. Factors such as print size, number of colors, and design complexity will influence the choice of printing method.
Additionally, we will consider the order quantity and due date to determine the most suitable printing method.
Direct-to-Film (DTF) Prints
We print the artwork onto a special transfer film using a Direct to Film (DTF) printer. DTF printers use water-based CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) and white inks to enhance opacity and brightness.
After printing, we apply a powder adhesive to the wet ink on the film, helping the ink adhere to the t-shirt during the transfer process. We then pass the film with the adhesive through a heat press or curing unit to melt the powder, bonding it with the ink and preparing it for transfer.
Next, we place the film on the t-shirt and apply heat and pressure using a heat press. This process transfers the ink and adhesive from the film to the fabric. Once the transfer is complete, we carefully peel away the film, leaving the design on the t-shirt.
Super Soft Hand Feel:
DTF printing uses water-based inks that feel softer and more flexible than plastisol inks used in some other printing methods. These inks integrate well with the fabric, resulting in a print that feels softer to the touch.
Thin Film Layer:
Unlike some printing methods that use thick layers of ink, DTF prints have a relatively thin layer of ink and adhesive. This minimal build-up prevents the print from feeling heavy or stiff on the fabric.
Vibrant Colors:
DTF printing produces bright and vivid colors, making it ideal for detailed and colorful designs.
Wash Resistance:
The DTF prints remain durable and typically withstand multiple washes without significant fading or peeling.
Elasticity:
All DTF prints are designed to be flexible and stretchable. The combination of water-based ink and adhesive allows the print to stretch with the fabric, maintaining a soft feel even when you wear or stretch the garment.
Digital Prints
Once your design is ready, we print and cut it in one step using our powerful Roland VersaCAMM printer. This machine delivers vibrant, long-lasting colors and precise cuts. We load special vinyl into the VersaCAMM, which handles both the printing and cutting in a single process.
Afterward, we carefully weed the excess vinyl, leaving only your custom design for transfer. To ensure a smooth transfer to the t-shirt, we place a layer of transfer tape over the design. This tape lifts the design from the backing and allows us to position it accurately on the shirt.
In the next step, we use a heat press to securely transfer the design onto the t-shirt, applying the right amount of heat and pressure. After pressing, we peel off the transfer tape to reveal the finished design.
Finally, we inspect the t-shirt to ensure everything is perfect and provide care instructions to keep your custom t-shirt looking great for a long time.
Exceptional Print Quality: The VersaCAMM delivers vibrant, high-resolution prints with a wide color gamut, ensuring that your designs look sharp and professional. It prints artwork with multiple colors, gradients, intricate details, and photos effectively.
Long-Lasting Prints: We use high-quality inks that are durable and resistant to fading, ensuring your designs remain vibrant even after multiple washes.
Using our Roland Versacamm inkjet printer and vinyl rolls, we create and plot the artwork on vinyl sheets.
Digital Prints are transferred onto shirts using high temperature and pressure.

Vinyl Prints
First, we start with your design. Whether it’s a logo, graphic, or text, we create it in a digital format using graphic design software. This step ensures that your design remains crisp and clear.
Select the Vinyl:
We choose high-quality vinyl suitable for T-shirt application. Depending on your preference, we offer various types of vinyl, including matte, glossy, or glitter.
Load the Vinyl:
We then load the vinyl onto our Graphtec plotter, positioning it correctly to ensure precise cutting.
Set Up the Plotter:
Our team adjusts the plotter’s settings, including the blade depth and cutting speed, to match the type of vinyl we use.
Cut the Design:
We send the design to the plotter, which uses a sharp blade to cut it out from the vinyl. This step ensures that the design will be perfectly shaped and ready for transfer.
Remove Excess Material:
Once we complete the cutting, we carefully remove the unwanted parts of the vinyl in a process known as “weeding.” This leaves only the design that will transfer onto the T-shirt.
Transfer Preparation:
With the design weeded, we prepare it for transfer by aligning it on the T-shirt. We then use a heat press to apply the vinyl to the shirt, ensuring that the design adheres perfectly and lasts through many washes.
Apply the Design:
We use our heat press machine to apply heat and pressure, transferring the vinyl onto the T-shirt. This step ensures that the design adheres firmly and remains durable.
Variety of Vinyl Colors:
Vinyl prints are great for single colour logos and artwork. You can choose from different colors of vinyl.
Long-Lasting:
Vinyl heat pressing creates designs that are durable and resistant to wear and tear. The design adheres strongly to the fabric and withstands numerous washes without fading or peeling.
Quicker Turnaround:
Compared to other methods like screen printing, vinyl heat pressing can be faster, especially for smaller orders or one-off designs.
Personalization Options:
You can easily personalize shirts with names, numbers, or custom messages. This is particularly useful for sports teams, events, or individual gifts.
Flexibility for Small Orders:
Vinyl heat pressing is perfect for personalized or small batch orders because it does not require minimum order quantities.
Note:
We do not recommend using this t-shirt printing method for small text or logos. The adhesive surface may not be sufficient to keep them pressed on the fabric for a long time.
Note:
Some artwork and logos which have both full-coloured and single colour graphic elements, will require both the digital print and vinyl print types.
Text and artwork are cut out on solid color vinyl rolls.
We cut out and weed out the unwanted vinyl areas from the vinyl sheets.
We apply the vinyl to the t-shirts using heat and pressure.
Silkscreen Prints
1. Design Creation Concept and Artwork:
We start with your logo, graphic, or text, we’ll create or refine it in a digital format. This artwork needs to be in a vector format (like .AI or .EPS) for the best quality.
2. Preparing the Screens Screen Creation:
Next, we use your design to create screens, which are special mesh frames. Each color in your design requires a separate screen. We transfer the design onto a screen using a light-sensitive emulsion that hardens where light hits it, forming a stencil. We coat the screens with the light-sensitive emulsion and allow them to dry in a dark environment to prepare for the design process.
3. Exposing the Screens Exposure Process:
We expose each screen to light with your design placed on it. The light hardens the areas of the emulsion that are exposed, while the areas blocked by your design remain soft and wash away, leaving a stencil of your design on the screen.
4. Preparing the T-Shirts Garment Setup:
We prepare the T-shirts for printing by placing them on a printing press. They are carefully aligned to ensure that the design is positioned correctly.
5. Printing the Design Ink Application:
We use a squeegee to push ink through the screen onto the T-shirt. Each color requires its own screen and layer of ink, and we repeat this process for each color in your design. After printing, we dry the T-shirts using a heat source to cure the ink, ensuring it adheres properly to the fabric and remains durable through washing.
6. Quality Check Inspection:
We thoroughly inspect each T-shirt to ensure that the design is applied correctly and meets our quality standards. We check for color accuracy, alignment, and any printing defects.
7. Final Touches Finishing:
After passing quality checks, we fold, package, and prepare the T-shirts for delivery.
1. High Durability Long-Lasting Prints:
Silk screen printing produces designs with durable, vibrant inks that adhere well to the fabric. This results in prints that can withstand frequent washing and wear without fading or peeling. Ink Penetration: The ink is applied directly onto the fabric, which allows for better adhesion and longevity compared to some other printing methods.
2. Vibrant Color Quality Rich Colors:
Screen printing uses opaque inks that provide rich, vibrant colors. This method is ideal for designs requiring bold, solid colors. Color Consistency: Once set up, screen printing can consistently reproduce the same colors and quality across multiple shirts.
3. Versatility Wide Range of Fabrics:
Screen printing can be applied to various types of fabrics, including cotton, polyester, and blends. It’s also effective on other materials like canvas and some synthetic fabrics.
4. Cost-Effectiveness for Bulk Orders Economical for Large Runs:
While there is an initial setup cost for creating screens, the per-unit cost decreases significantly with larger quantities. This makes screen printing a cost-effective option for large orders. Reduced Cost per Shirt: As the number of shirts increases, the cost per shirt typically decreases, making it ideal for bulk production.
5. Specialty Inks:
Screen printing allows for the use of specialty inks such as metallics, glow-in-the-dark, and puff inks. This enables creative and unique designs that stand out. (Availability of these inks to be advised by Sales Managers)
6. Speed and Efficiency Fast Production:
Once the screens are set up, screen printing is a fast process, especially for larger quantities. This efficiency can lead to quicker turnaround times for large orders. High Output: Screen printing can produce a high volume of shirts in a short period, making it suitable for bulk orders.
7. Professional Finish Clean and Crisp Prints:
The method produces clean, sharp lines and details, resulting in professional-quality prints. Solid Coverage: Screen printing is effective in achieving solid, even coverage of ink, which can enhance the visual impact of the design.
Silkscreen Printing is a traditional method using mesh screen, ink and heat that produces great visual results.
Let us know your preferred Pantone colors so that we can create the silkscreen print inks accordingly.
Choice of silkscreen printing on branded or non-branded tshirts.
Sublimation Prints
1. Design Creation Artwork Preparation:
We start with your design, which can include images, text, or graphics. For sublimation, it’s best if your design is created in a high-resolution format, typically in a digital file like .PNG or .AI.
2. Preparing the Design for Sublimation Color Management:
We adjust your design’s colors correctly for sublimation printing. Since sublimation uses a wide color gamut, we fine-tune the colors to ensure they look suitable.
3. Printing the Design Sublimation Printer:
We use a special sublimation printer to print your design onto transfer paper. The printer uses sublimation inks that turn into gas when heated. We print the design onto this special sublimation transfer paper, which holds the ink until we transfer it to the fabric.
4. Preparing the T-Shirts Garment Selection:
We use high-quality polyester T-shirts or polyester-coated items for sublimation. Sublimation works best on polyester fabrics because the ink bonds with the polyester fibers. We prepare the T-shirt on a heat press to ensure the fabric is clean and smooth for the best transfer results.
5. Heat Transfer Pressing the Design:
We place the transfer paper with the design onto the T-shirt and put both in a heat press. We apply high heat and pressure for a specific time, causing the sublimation ink to turn into gas and bond with the polyester fibers of the T-shirt. After the heat press process, we carefully remove the transfer paper and allow the T-shirt to cool. The design is now permanently infused into the fabric.
6. Quality Check Inspection:
We inspect each T-shirt to ensure the design is clear, vibrant, and properly aligned. This inspection guarantees that the final product meets our quality standards.
7. Final Touches Finishing:
After the quality check, the T-shirts are folded, packaged, and prepared for delivery.
Bright Colors:
Sublimation printing produces bright, vivid colors that are hard to achieve with other methods. The process allows for a wide range of colors, including gradients and intricate details.
Long-Lasting:
The sublimation process infuses the ink into the fabric rather than just sitting on top. This results in prints that won’t peel, crack, or fade over time, even after many washes.
Soft Hand Feel:
Because the ink becomes part of the fabric, there is no added texture or weight, which keeps the shirt feeling soft and comfortable.
Unlimited Colors:
Unlike some other printing methods that might have limitations on color or require additional costs for multiple colors, sublimation allows for unlimited colors without extra charges.
Full-Color Printing:
You can achieve complex and multi-color designs in a single print run without the need for separate screens or plates.
Consistency:
The process ensures consistent color and detail across multiple items, maintaining the quality of the design throughout the production run.
Bright Prints on Light Fabrics:
While sublimation works best on light-colored fabrics
Water-Based Inks:
Sublimation inks are water-based, which makes them more environmentally friendly compared to some solvent-based inks.
Minimal Waste:
The process involves minimal waste, as there is no need for screens or plates, and excess ink is not typically used.
Our Design Team prepares the artwork file to produce sublimation t-shirts.

T shirt Fabric Types
- Durability:
- Wrinkle Resistance:
- Breathability:
- Moisture-Wicking:
- Quick Drying:
- Color Retention:
- Shrinkage Resistance:
- Lightweight:
- Non-Absorbent:
Softness: Cotton is known for its natural softness, which makes it comfortable to wear against the skin. In other words, this is one of the main reasons for its popularity in casual and everyday wear.
Breathability: Cotton is highly breathable, allowing air to circulate through the fabric. Hence, this helps to keep you cool and comfortable, especially in warm weather.
Absorbency: Cotton can absorb moisture effectively, making it a good choice for sweat absorption and keeping you dry. However, this also means that it can take longer to dry after washing.
Comfort: The natural fibers in cotton offer a high level of comfort and are gentle on the skin, therefore, it is ideal for people with sensitive skin or allergies.
Durability: While cotton is generally durable, it is not as resilient as synthetic fabrics like polyester. Cotton can wear out faster with frequent washing and abrasion.
Shrinkage: Cotton fabric tends to shrink when washed and dried, especially if the t-shirt is not pre-shrunk or washed in hot water. This is something to consider when buying cotton garments.
Wrinkle Prone: Cotton is more prone to wrinkling compared to synthetic fabrics. T-shirts made from cotton may require ironing or steaming to maintain a smooth appearance.
Easy Care: Cotton is relatively easy to care for and can generally be machine washed and dried. However, proper washing instructions should be followed to maintain the fabric’s quality, color and prevent shrinkage.
T-shirts made from mixed composition fabrics—often a blend of natural and synthetic fibers—combine the properties of each material to create garments with enhanced or unique characteristics. Here are some common properties of mixed composition fabric t-shirts:
Enhanced Comfort: Blending fibers allows these fabrics to balance comfort and performance. For example, a cotton and polyester blend combines the softness of cotton with the durability and moisture-wicking abilities of polyester.
Improved Durability: Synthetic fibers like polyester or nylon are known for their durability and resistance to wear and tear. When mixed with natural fibers like cotton, the resulting fabric is more resistant to stretching, shrinking, and general wear.
Moisture Management: Mixed fabrics can offer better moisture-wicking properties than 100% cotton. For example, a cotton-polyester blend draws moisture away from the body more effectively than cotton alone, keeping you cooler and drier.
Wrinkle Resistance: Blending synthetic fibers with natural fibers can reduce the fabric’s tendency to wrinkle. Hence, this makes the t-shirt easier to care for and helps it maintain a smoother appearance.
Color Retention: Synthetic fibers hold dyes better and resist fading compared to natural fibers. Thus, a blend can offer better color retention and vibrancy over time than a 100% natural fiber garment.
Breathability and Comfort: Blends can balance the breathability of natural fibers with the durability and shape retention of synthetics. For instance, a cotton-modal blend combines the breathability of cotton with the silky feel of modal.
Shrinkage Resistance: Synthetic fibers help reduce the amount of shrinkage that can occur with natural fibers like cotton. This helps the garment maintain its shape and fit after washing.
Quick Drying: Fabrics with a higher percentage of synthetic fibers generally dry faster than those made from natural fibers alone. This makes mixed fabrics more practical for activewear and everyday use.
Flexibility in Fabric Feel: Different blends can be tailored to achieve specific textures or feels. For example, a blend of polyester and elastane (spandex) provides stretch and a snug fit, ideal for activewear.
Ease of Care: Blended fabrics are generally easier to care for than those made from natural fibers alone. They wrinkle and shrink less and can often be machine washed and dried with minimal special care.
Fashion brands such as adidas, is committed to reduce plastic waste. Polo shirts such as the adidas Short Sleeve Polo and the adidas Freelift Ultimate Aeroready Designed 2 Move Sport Tee are made of 100% Recycled Polyester Fabric.
T shirt Types

A Crew Neck T shirt has a round neckline and is one of the most common t-shirt styles. It sits closer to the neck compared to the regular Round Neck T shirt.
Features a V-shaped neckline. This style can be a bit dressier than the standard crew neck and can elongate the neck and shoulders.
Oversized T-shirts are designed to be loose and flowy, often giving a relaxed and casual look. They serve as a staple for the streetwear style.
A Long Sleeve Round Neck T shirt extends down the arms and is great for cooler weather or layering.
Has a more tailored, body-hugging cut. It’s ideal for a more streamlined appearance.
A Raglan Tee features sleeves that extend in one piece to the collar, usually in a different color from the body. People also know it as a baseball tee, and it offers a distinctive look.
A Cap Sleeve Tee has short, slightly flared sleeves that cover the shoulders but don’t extend down the arms. It’s a more feminine take on the classic t-shirt.
