Embroidery and prints on customised caps in Singapore

Customised caps in Singapore has been increasingly popular in the recent years. On top of protection from the varied weather conditions in Singapore, caps are often used to express the personal style of the wearer or simply to salvage a bad hair day. On the corporate side, caps are used as branding tools to raise awareness of a brand, to build employee loyalty and team camaraderie. Hence, it is unsurprising that customised caps in Singapore are well liked by most.

We are going to share with you the different types of embroidery and prints that can be customised on caps in Singapore.

Embroidery on Caps

Let’s talk about embroidery first. There are 3 types of embroidery available on caps. They are namely 2D Embroidery, 3D Embroidery and Badge Embroidery.

2D Embroidery
2D Embroidery or Direct embroidery is the process of sewing the design or logo directly into the material of the cap. The versatility of direct embroidery is endless and you can have a wide range of colours in one embroidery. As this is cost effective, it is the preferred method of embroidery on caps.

3D Embroidery
3D Embroidery is a technique where stitches are thickened and raised, giving a three-dimensional look to the embroidery design or logo. This is the latest development in embroidery techniques and not common in the market. If you would like to stand out from the crowd, choose 3D embroidery for your caps.

Badge embroidery is a piece of embroidery work created by using a fabric backing and thread. This is selected to avoid sewing threads at the back of the fabric. Embroidery badges can be sewn on, iron-on or heat activated adhesive on the sides and back of the cap.

Printing on Caps
Now moving on to printing on caps. The 2 types of printing available on caps are Vinyl Printing and Digital Printing.

Vinyl Printing
Vinyl printing involves a computer-controlled blade which digitally cuts the design out of the vinyl. This is a commonly used technique for designs that need to look vibrant. Some examples are personalised names and numbers. There are wide range of colours and special effect finishes for designs such as glow-in-the-dark, matt metallic and 3M Scotchlite Reflective Vinyls. This is ideal for your vibrant colours print!

Digital Printing
Digital printing allows the printing of brilliant, vibrant, full-coloured designs and logos of any sizes by producing an unlimited colour palette through CMYK. The quality of print and the range of colours, especially gradients is better using digital prints as compared to silkscreen printing. This is suitable for smaller quantity and gradient prints.
